Why a certified reporter?
Court reporters have a very serious
responsibility as the impartial record keepers in court and deposition
proceedings. Having the skills and knowledge to fulfill this
responsibility is crucial. In a field where technology is rapidly
changing and litigation is becoming more sophisticated, continuing
education and development to meet the changing demands of the
profession becomes even more critical. But attorneys and the public in
general in South Carolina are afforded no protection when it comes to
hiring a court reporter; there are no requirements for certification
here. That’s why Carolina Reporting has raised the bar. Each reporter
in our firm has voluntarily taken and passed the National Court
Reporters Association (NCRA) Registered Professional Reporter
examination. Along with passing the test is the responsibility of
continuing education and adherence to NCRA’s Code of Ethics. We believe
by submitting to the requirements of national certification we lay the
groundwork to raise personal performance. Our clients can be confident
in our professional competence and recognize each reporter’s individual
expertise and knowledge. Scheduling Carolina Reporting for your court
reporting needs guarantees you an informed, up-to-date and ethical
reporter with whom to work.
